The Rehab, Injury, and Pain Management Camp is designed for lifters, trainers, therapists, and coaches who are interested in learning how strength training integrates with rehab and the management of chronic pain in their coaching practice and in their own training.
The camp will include both theory and practical sessions on programming, chronic pain, motivational interviewing, and the framework for dealing with pain and injuries. Starting with a lecture on a simple process-based approach to dealing with aches and pains, the camp will progress to a practical session on common modifications needed for injuries or chronic pain and how to move from modifications back to regular programming as efficiently as possible.
The camp will end with a Q&A with Will and Nick in which we’ll deal with specific questions and issues in your or your lifters’ training.
The Rehab, Injury, and Pain Management Camp is open to anyone. There will be a practical portion so bring your weightlifting equipment. Proper weightlifting shoes are highly recommended. They increase stability, control, and consistency in all of the lifts and should be considered essential equipment if barbell training is a priority. If participants use weightlifting belts, they are encouraged to bring them. You are also encouraged to wear a 100% cotton shirt if possible or avoid wearing any slick/moisture wicking material.
