A fantastic workshop. Tom explained the technical parts of the lifts in exhaustive detail and spent several hours working with us under the bar. Lots of personalized attention and instruction. Definitely worth the money. Will sign up for the pressing workshop next month.

Awesome !! Tom is a great coach. I had the book and dvd but was not sure I was doing them right since I didn't have anyone to watch me. Tom gets you familiar with your own unique cues for proper form. I can now deadlift and powerclean with more confidence(and more weight).

Definitely recommended, I will be signing up for squat camp when it comes back around.

I attended the Starting Strength Pull Camp at Crossfit Oakand on January 29th, 2012 with Tom Campitelli. We covered the deadlift and the power clean.

Tom is an incredibly helpful teacher when it comes to the deadlift and the power clean. At first, the instruction was very broad covering all areas of these two lifts. Then while assessing each individual's lifts, the pointers and direction were very precise. Each person in the class gets individual attention with each lift for seve [...read more]

This was a fantastic class, I learned allot and I hope to attend future events. I arrived unable to do a complete low bar back squat, with Tom’s coaching I was easily doing the lift with confidence.

Last weekend I attended a four hour back squat workshop at Crossfit Oakland with Coach Thomas Campitelli. I did not know what to expect other then that I heard from other CFOer's Tom was loud and a great teacher. He turned out to not disappoint on either count. He gave very precise and robust form queues. If bluster bothers you, don't worry you will quickly catch on that Tom cares about everyone in class the noise is just a tool to break through calcified bad form habits. The format of the w [...read more]

Went to the Starting Strength Squat camp at CrossFit Oakland. I have been squatting for a few years but wanted to know if I was doing the program. I was afraid to post a video because I thought Mark would yell at me. Too much pressure

Tom is a great coach and I got exactly what I wanted. The instructional and QA part of the program was great. Tom is very knowledgeable and was able to explain things quite well. Best of all was that he observed every single lift, including the warmu [...read more]

I want to thank all who were responsible for piecing together an excellent camp at the Crossfit sweatshop in Walnut Creek CA. A special thanks to Tom Campitelli for being an excellent, knowledgeable coach who's techniques and desire to help knuckleheads like me have really made a difference. My starts and position of moving the bar in a straight line have drastically improved in just one session with Tom. I made the 6 hour trip from Los Angeles to get things straightened with my lifts and I'm gl [...read more]

I found Tom's camp at Crossfit Sweat Shop in Walnut Creek to be super helpful and informative. I am Starting Strength n00b, and had previously taught myself the low bar squat from the book and dvd. Tom spent a solid amount of time with each participant, correcting and improving all aspects of our squat technique.

He is a very knowledgable and was willing to spend extra time fielding our questions. I'm looking forward to any further pulling/pressing camps that he may hold in the f [...read more]

We had a great time at Tom Campitelli's squat camp today.

The camp started out with a lecture about squat-related anatomy, some of the physics involved in the movement and then he tied it in with with some great explanations of how the correct squat fits in. After the lecture, it was time for the workout portion.

He guided us through a general warmup and then we got under the bar. We all did our warmup sets at the same time and Tom popped around assessing everyone. [...read more]

Tom did a great job running this trainnig camp on the low bar back squat. Having read Starting Strength, I was familair with the movement and a lot of the terminology. However, I have been following the program on my own without a coach for the past 6 months so I jumped at the opportunity to get feedback on how I was moving under the bar.

Tom provided concise cue words to get us moving correctly and did not over-complicate the programming--which is a reason why I have come to lo [...read more]
