The Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel
(special room rate available, see below)
401 Broad St.
Wichita Falls, TX 76301
Join us in Wichita Falls for a weekend of information and training, as we pick the brains of a special group of coaches that span an incredibly wide range of experience and expertise.
Tommy Suggs
Former National Champion Olympic weightlifter, national and world team coach, and editor of the legendary strength publication Strength and Health, Tommy’s experience at the top of the iron game spans six decades. His unique perspective on strength, power, training, and athletics is simply unavailable anywhere else. We are honored by his attendance, and anyone who misses this rare opportunity to interact with a coach of this caliber is not thinking clearly.
Jim Wendler
A national-level powerlifter, Jim is currently an important part of Elite Fitness Systems, one of the foremost suppliers of equipment and information in the industry worldwide. As a former college football player, collegiate strength coach, competitive lifter, and the author of 531: The Simplest and Most Effective Training System for Raw Strength, Jim is more than qualified to offer useful advice for your training, as you already know.
Mark Rippetoe
Rippetoe is the author of Starting Strength, Strong Enough?, Mean Ol’ Mr. Gravity, co-author of Practical Programming for Strength Training, as well as numerous articles and journal pieces. His work on the Starting Strength website is available free, and is worth what you pay for it, although his 30+ years in the fitness industry and barbell training might prove useful enough for the money you’ll spend.
John Sheaffer
The roundtable will be moderated by our staff. Each attendee will have time for as many questions as time permits in the order in which you register, with the first person registered asking the first question, second person the second question, etc. We will proceed through the audience as many times as possible in the time allotted for the roundtable. The moderator will determine question length, follow-up questions, and comments based on the contribution any out-of-order discussion makes to the session.
The BBQ will be at the gym. BYOB does not mean “Bring Your Own Barbeque.” We will have the food, paper plates, sporks, and other traditional BBQ accoutrements. You are welcome to stay and talk with us as long as everybody’s attention span permits. There will be no training Saturday evening.
The Sunday Training sessions at WFAC will be open for everyone who attends, and will be coached at your pleasure by the Starting Strength Staff, including myself, John Sheaffer, Juli Peterson, Josh Wells, and Dr. Stef Bradford. We will do any and all lifts you are in the mood to do that time and personnel permits. There will be a morning and afternoon session, with lunch at 1 pm. Bring your personal training equipment. Weightlifting shoes are suggested and encouraged. WFAC has 13 platforms, 10 power racks, full competition Olympic weightlifting equipment, the best bars in the country, kettlebells, an outdoor sprint track, a Prowler, and other outdoor equipment. Showers will not be available for this session.
All together, this is quite a value for $175.00, and since most of you are not fools the 50 slots will sell quickly. Get your seat today. To ensure the quality of the experience no exceptions will be made for extra slots.
A special room rate of $49.00 has been reserved for you at the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel. Call (940)766-6000 and mention The Aasgaard Company for these dates to receive this quite reasonable discount rate. YOU MUST BOOK BEFORE JULY 23 TO GET THIS RATE.
